After the Laughter Come the Tears

So Nina Simone was singing to me ever so gently today with her velvet voice and said:

birds flying high you know how I feel,
sun in the sky you know how I feel,
reefs drifting on by you know how I feel,
it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life,
and I'm feeeeeeling goood.

fish in the sea, you know how I feel,
river running free you know how I feel,
blossom on the tree you know how I feel.
it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life,
for me.

That's right. The regular few who check out my art, thank you. I'm going on a hiatus for a bit until I get a few things straightened out.

L'il Husla'

Born of poverty and pain,
He swore to never feel the same,
So now he lurks outside the light to make a gain.

Wearing a smile,
He walks a thousand and one mile,
Making a living with dignity and style.

Never one to accept disrespect,
He pays no heed to physical threat,
But disarms opponents with charm and street etiquette,

He's agreed,
To move swiftly through the street,
And feed the greed of all who'll bleed.

But watch out boy or you'll become a toy,
A silly puppet dancing to his master ploy.
You can't struggle or strain, for this is his game.

So remember the name:
The rustla', bustla',
known as L'il Husla'!

Honor is for Cowards

Mushi, mushi. The final design was put on a shirt for my brother during his tentative venture into Japanese culture. Although interesting, overall the drawing is awkward in a number of places and I regret not giving it more life and movement. Draw and learn. Drawn with pencil, roughly cleaned up, then inked and coloured in Flash.

The Bat

I've always found Batman hard to draw, but defenitely want to play around with his look some more. Depending on your sensibilities, there's just so much room for experimentation when it comes to him. I drew these while taking a break from 3-D at school.

What a Beautiful Goon

A goon with a kind heart. He beats gently.

Making Hamilton Proud

This is my friend Ryan gracefully doing his infamous Hamilton Dance. He's been known to bust into a jig whenever joy overwhelms him, to the delight of all onlookers. Check out his amazing blog! (links)

Flesh on Bones

Based on the artist's own body, but in the hopes of not appearing vain he drew a more humble portrayal.

Salami for the People

Alright, I'm officially a blogger. I've dreamt of this my whole life.
