...waiting for a lemonade by the sea. Her dear friend Camila dropped out of this long anticipated trip most inconveniently at the last minute. To be fair there were valid reasons, but that's another story. Aunt Mimi never married. This remains a silent concern, in some way touching every aspect of her life. Meanwhile, two tables down, Gabriel was not charged for his third beer and the side of olives he ordered. He chooses not to mention this to the waitress. He will leave a generous tip however, walk away, and in a year's time will meet Mimi for the first time. Gabriel will fall deeply in love with her sincere giggle, small lower lip, and genuine concern for the world . Neither of them will ever know that they shared the same air for some minutes at the sea, one year past. Here now, Mimi will enjoy her lemonade (though it could have used more sugar) stroll around the water and drift to sleep to dream of lemon trees.

The sun indeed shines brightly.

Hello! So I decided to put some of my work together in a book a couple of months back. The result is a 60 page, softcover volume collecting art form 2006-2009. I'm expecting to receive an advance order for the Toronto Wizard Con on March 26-28, where it will be launched from my little half table. Come for the world premiere! :)

The above image is the cover. My good friend and sometimes nemesis Mr.Andrew Shek gave me a great suggestion for the design, so here's a bow to his elephantness. I'll update the status of this little project as it advances.

Hello esteemed visitors :) I'll be attending the CTN Expo in LA November 20-22, where I'll be sharing a table (table 39) with the honorable Saud Boksmati and neighboring the esteemed Robin Joseph. We will be accompanied by Ken Turner and his assistant Bernard Joaquin. I've never been a part of an event like this, and since I've slowly been withdrawing from the Toronto animation industry and reconsidering my part in this world, I thought it would be interesting to see what the brightest and most inspiring veterans and new talent would evoke from me.

Those warning about a man-made pandemic a few years back are simply shaking their head at the emergence of the equally expected "mandatory" mass vaccination that is being pushed for the fall. Austrian journalist and my current hero Jane Burgermeister, has filed criminal charges against Baxter, WHO (World Health Organization) and others alleging bioterrorism with the intent to commit mass murder. Vaccine manufacturers claiming lawful immunity from prosecution due to harmful effects from the vaccine, should ring quite a loud alarm bell. Not to mention the mountain of information ignored by omission or commission by the sheep in journalist's clothing.

Yet one more source of sneaky disempowerment and Orwellian doublethink.

I love the slight of hand superheroes have played on our culture. While posing as saviors and champions of righteousness, they actually maintain the illusion that an abstract force outside of us can solve the problems we think are beyond us. Instead of creating empowerment, superheroes polarize us into victors/victims and actually create feelings of impotence at a subconscious level. In fact one may argue that superheroes add to the development of the prevalent syndrome of "it's not my problem, so let someone else think of it". As a result barely anyone takes positive action. The absolute truth is that each one of us has the strength, ability, and talent to face any situation in this world...it comes not by believing but knowing. Know it my friends. Batman sure does. And if his writers weren't creating his life for him I'm sure he'd tell you so himself.

And how about the superhero's need to hide while doing good and serving real justice? What a perverse implication for our world that is. Thanks Stan Lee. Thanks a lot.

I went to Peru for 2 weeks and loved it. These are some photos I took. There was a very serious earthquake there in the region of Lima (the capital) yesterday and many people lost their lives. May the best of circumstances help those who survived.

This is a character design done for my first lip-sync animation from about a year and a half ago. Unfortunately the animation didn't turn out as good as the sketch. First, look at all the extra lines. Haha, sweet childish innocence/ignorance... Second, I put a major body movement for almost every word in the sentence which killed it. If anyone's interested I can post some of the keys.

It seems that I have a fixation on vests and mustaches. They always sleaze their way out of the pencil, what can I say?

Mushi, mushi. The final design was put on a shirt for my brother during his tentative venture into Japanese culture. Although interesting, overall the drawing is awkward in a number of places and I regret not giving it more life and movement. Draw and learn. Drawn with pencil, roughly cleaned up, then inked and coloured in Flash.
